Interactive TV access to games
Britain’s Independent Television Network (ITV) has signed an agreement with British Sky Broadcasting PLC that will enable the network to launch a range of interactive services on BSkyB’s digital satellite platform and to develop new revenue streams.
Three principal areas of development are involved, embracing interactive voting, competitions and other services, interactive advertising and gaming and betting services.
The gambling and betting interactive services will be provided through ITV’s partnership with Sportech PLC’s Littlewoods Leisure division, linked to programming on the network. The partnership is based on a revenue sharing arrangement between ITV and Littlewoods and a range of applications is in development.

CLUB FIORE TO RELOCATE?
Kahnawake or the Isle of Man?
It seems that our speculation last week that the popular Club Fiore.com casino might be considering a change of jurisdiction was on the money – when we presented this information to manager David Hope Robertson shortly after going to press last week he was less reticent with this statement, “….at present Action Online is exploring alternative regulated jurisdictions and we are in discussions with the Isle of Man authorities on our intention to relocate our operations. I would expect to be able to give you more information on our planning in the coming week”.
In a report on the growing disquiet of Isle of Man licensees concerning the inflexibility of the regulations there, New Media commented recently that several licensees were “…understood to be reconsidering their presence on the island, Slot Gacor blaming increased bureaucracy and over-regulation. These include US casino Club Fiore, which is thought to be relocating to Kahnawake in Canada.”
SO YOU THINK YOUR PAYOUT WAS SLOW?
How about eight months….
One online player has been battling for eight long months to get a relatively small check in respect of a cashout that he made at River Nile casino in June last year!
South African-based River Nile and its sister casino in the Golden Star group, Golden Riviera have a reputation for being slow payers, but this sounded ridiculous so we asked for more details. It seems that e-cash processor Proc Cyber Services was not at fault here, as the player has communicated only with the casino. The staff there initially told the player that they could not send a check to his post office box address. No problem, he made the necessary arrangements for them to send it to a street address. And then he waited, and waited and sent emails that were ignored, and waited….
After several months he enlisted the help of Fairbet.com and assumes that that must have done the trick because on 3rd February this year he finally received his payment…and this week the casino sent a $20 comp for the delay. As one wag pointed out, that works out at $2.50 a month interest.
We guess “better late than never” is the obvious cliche, but this sort of inefficiency is disturbing.
